The ARMory Exclusive

September 2026  |  Lakeland, Florida
From Randy

September is when the gap opens.

In June, everybody trains. The facility is packed, the fields are packed, and every kid in America is doing something with a baseball. There is no separation in June because everyone is moving in the same direction at the same time.

Then school starts. Fall ball starts. Homework, girlfriends, a job, a long bus ride home on Tuesday nights. The herd thins out, and it thins fast.

I am not complaining about that. I am telling you it is the opening. The separation you want next spring gets built in the months when most of your competition quietly stops building.

Here is what that looks like in practice.

01 The Calendar

The offseason does not start in January.

Every year around the first week of January, my phone lights up. It is always a dad, and he always asks the same thing. Tryouts are in six weeks. Can you get him ready?

We can help. I say so honestly. But I also have to tell him what he does not want to hear, which is that he just gave away the four months that would have mattered most.

Tissue does not read your calendar. Adaptation runs on its own clock and refuses to be rushed. Strength responds in weeks. Tendon and connective tissue remodel slower than that. Movement pattern change is slowest of all, because you are not adding something new, you are asking the nervous system to give up a solution it has been defending since Little League.

Six weeks in January buys a little. September through January builds a different pitcher.

What The Runway Actually Looks Like
Start in September
Assessment now. Movement work through fall ball. Strength block built while the weather is still good. You arrive at Winter Training already adapting, and you spend those six weeks compounding instead of catching up.
Start in January
Assessment in week one. Half your window spent removing the pattern instead of building the new one. Real progress, cut short by a season that starts before the adaptation finishes.

SAVAGE Winter Training runs Monday through Friday, November 30 through January 15. That is the immersion. What you do between now and November 30 decides how much of it you get to spend moving forward.

02 The Science

Why he got stronger all summer and threw exactly the same

Movement assessment in the ARMory lab

Picture a tow rope between two cars. The front car pulls away and for the first few feet, nothing happens to the car behind it. The rope is sagging. Every inch of that sag is an inch of nothing, and only when the rope goes taut does anything actually move.

Your muscles do the same thing. They do not sit on the bones like tight cables waiting for the whistle. They hang. Before a muscle can produce any usable force, that sag has to come out, and the amount of tension it takes to get there has a name. Frans Bosch calls it muscle slack, and he makes the point that managing it may be one of the most performance-determining factors in all of sport, which is remarkable given how few coaches and therapists have ever heard of it.

In a delivery, the slack comes out in a specific order. Miss a step and the rope is still sagging when the arm needs the pull.

Taking The Rope Taut: The Order Slack Leaves The Body
BACK LEG
The hinge pulls slack out of the hip complex and parks the glutes near the length where they make the most force.
TRAIL HIP
It rotates in while the pelvis holds for a beat. That small delay is what clears the sag out of the abdominals.
TRUNK
Thoracic extension keeps the tension you just built instead of letting it bleed off as the trunk turns.
SCAPULA
As it settles down the rib cage, the last of the slack leaves the shoulder and the arm is finally free to go.

Three things train slack removal: heavy loading, countermovements, and co-contraction. Notice what is missing from that list. You cannot cue it, and you cannot stretch your way into it.

Now you know why a kid can put sixty pounds on his squat over a summer and not gain a single mile an hour. He got stronger. He never got faster at getting taut, and the mound does not pay for strength you cannot deliver on time.

A Precision Strike session is four hours, one on one, with a licensed physical therapist and our full technology stack pointed at one athlete. Force plates, markerless motion capture, TrackMan, high speed video. We find where your rope is still sagging, and you leave with the written plan that takes it out.

03 ARMory Guy

Parker Messick is an All-Star. He still is not the hardest thrower in the room.

Parker Messick, ARMory guy and American League All-Star

A kid from Plant City made the American League All-Star team this summer as a rookie. I have known Parker a long time, and I want to be honest with you about what he is and what he is not.

He is listed at six feet. His fastball averages around ninety one and touches ninety five. Put him in a showcase line next to twenty other arms and he does not win the beauty pageant, and he never did.

What he has is four pitches he actually knows how to use, and a strike zone he owns. At Florida State he struck out a hundred and forty four hitters in a season and walked eighteen. Read those two numbers again. That ratio is not a gift. That is a decision somebody made about how to spend his time.

What Nobody Puts On A Showcase Flyer
Velocity gets you looked at. Command, sequencing, and deception get you kept. Every year I watch families spend an entire offseason chasing the first one and zero days on the second, then wonder why the calls stop coming after the workout.

Parker was willing to be assessed honestly, and then to go do the specific and frankly boring work the assessment pointed at. Not for six weeks. For years, in the months when nobody was watching and nothing showed up on a leaderboard.

That is not a Parker story. That is the whole ARMory story, told over and over by different kids with different names.

Command improves by roughly twenty percent alongside those velocity numbers, which is the part most velo programs never mention because most velo programs cannot deliver it. We do not sell you a radar reading. We build a pitcher.

SAVAGE Winter Training runs Monday through Friday, November 30 through January 15. If you are a pro, or a college guy who intends to be one, the SAVAGE Pro Off-Season program is built for this same window.

04 For The Hitters

Nobody ever got recruited off a pretty swing.

Go stand behind a backstop at a showcase and watch what happens when a scout hears a ball come off the barrel right. He does not check his notes first. His head comes up before his brain catches up, because the sound got there ahead of everything else.

That is the whole job. Hit them hard, hit them far, hit them often. Everything else in a hitting lesson is a means to that end, and a lot of hitting lessons have forgotten it.

The tow rope applies here too. A hitter who cannot take slack out of the ground, the hips, and the trunk in the right order is a hitter with a beautiful swing and a dead barrel. He looks the part in the cage and gets jammed in the game, and no amount of tee work fixes it, because a tee removes the exact thing that forces the fix.

Our SAVAGE Power Hitting system runs the same process we run for pitchers. Assess the mover before you coach the movement. Build the strength and the sequencing that produce bat speed. Then use variability, not repetition, to make it hold up against a pitcher who is actually trying to get him out.

Weekend Camp runs hitting on Saturday and Sunday, so a pitcher and a hitter in the same family can come the same weekend.

05 Remote Training

You need a guide who is not also the guy deciding your fate.

Look at what fall and winter actually ask of a player. Make the roster. Crack the starting lineup. Get the innings. Change a coach's mind about you before he finishes forming it. Every kid I talk to this time of year is scratching and clawing to impress somebody.

Now look at who he is asking for help. The same coach who is evaluating him. The man with a lineup card to fill and a season to win, whose interests overlap with your son's but are not the same as your son's. That is not a shot at coaches. It is their job, and most of them do it well. It just means the person standing closest to your son has a stake in the outcome.

I do not. I have no roster. I am not choosing anybody's Friday starter. The only question I am asking about your son is whether he is better this month than he was last month, and I have nothing else riding on the answer.

How Satellite Actually Runs
THE PLAN
A daily plan built for him. Throwing, arm care, mobility, strength, power, recovery, all of it in one app with a video on every rep.
THE FIT
It augments and accentuates what he is doing with his team. It does not interfere with it. We build around his practice schedule, his bullpens, and his game days, not against them.
THE LOOP
He sends video. I analyze it myself and send back a voiceover breakdown. The plan gets adjusted daily, not monthly. Every thirty days, a fresh assessment and a new plan.
THE ACCESS
You get a phone number that reaches me. Call, text, or FaceTime, and you are talking to me rather than a franchisee or a junior coach. Nobody else in this industry offers that, and there is a reason for it.

Here is the part I want you to sit with. His teammates are all doing the same team lifts, the same team bullpens, the same team conditioning. That work is fine. It is also identical for everyone in the room, which means it cannot possibly separate anybody in the room.

If you only do what everyone else does, you will only get what everyone else gets.

Plans run one, two, or three months. Start one now and you walk into the spring having spent the fall building something nobody around you was building.

The kid who wins the spring is not the one who had the best summer. He is the one who kept building in the months when the room emptied out.

God does not make junk, and human tissue does not have a free will. Get the training right and the body cannot decide not to adapt.

Let us get it right for him, starting this month.
